Go diving it reduces pressure

Diving at ECA

A message from the ECA’s Diving Officer

In keeping with the ECA’s policy of “enjoyment of all aspects of water sports “, we have a small but active diving section for our members.

There’s a diving store for storage of “in test” cylinders and other diving equipment. These save humping heavy gear to and from the club. Also, in the store there’s an air compressor which will pump cylinders to over 3000psi.

After ‘Usage training”, diving section members, can fill their own cylinders as many times during the year as required. This cost saving, alone will cover the key cost.

Although existing number of registered key holders has fallen in recent years – mainly due to local visibility not being so good, owing to dredging in the Solent for the aircraft carriers and bulk containers going into Southampton container docks, – the compressor still gets used quite a lot and is serviced annually to keep us safe.

If you, as an ECA member, fancy becoming a diving section key holder please contact me through the ECA office and I will be glad to meet up.

Dive safe
